
The Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi will be hosting National Surgeon Week from June 9 to 15, according to the surgery department. This special week is designed to promote health awareness and celebrate the contributions of surgeons. The events include health awareness initiatives, blood donation drives, tree planting, a walkathon, honoring doctors, and educational programs. Dr. D.K. Sinha, head of the Surgery Department, detailed the week’s activities during a press conference. The event aims to raise public health awareness and highlight surgeons’ efforts. Senior doctors from Ranchi and Jharkhand, including Prof. V.K. Jain, Dr. N.K. Jha, Dr. Sheetal Malua, Dr. R.R. Sinha, Dr. Pankaj Bodra, and Dr. Satish Midha, were present, alongside junior doctors like Dr. Arnav, Dr. Nalini, Dr. Shabnam, and Dr. Pralay. Scheduled events include a walkathon and street play on June 9, a workshop with the radiology department on June 10, a blood donation camp on June 11, the honoring of senior doctors on June 12, tree planting and health check-ups on June 13, a quiz competition for PG students on June 14, and the National Surgeon Day celebration and closing ceremony on June 15.
