Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has responded to the Election Commission of India (ECI) regarding allegations of rigging in the Maharashtra polls. He criticized the ECI for issuing unsigned notes and urged them to address the concerns raised in his article. Gandhi demanded the publication of digital, machine-readable voter rolls for recent Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections in all states, including Maharashtra, and the release of post-5 PM CCTV footage from Maharashtra polling booths. The ECI had previously dismissed Gandhi’s charges as unsubstantiated, while Gandhi asserted the Maharashtra assembly elections were rigged and potentially to be repeated in the upcoming Bihar assembly elections. Deputy CM Eknath Shinde responded to Gandhi’s claims, suggesting they were politically motivated and the public understood the government’s actions.
