Elon Musk deleted a tweet referencing the Epstein files and mentioning former U.S. President Donald Trump. This action followed a public dispute between the two high-profile figures. Sources indicate that Musk stepped down from his role as special government employee at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to focus on his business interests, with the online spat triggered by disagreements over Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill.’
Musk’s tweet, which has since been removed, stated, “Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!” In a subsequent response to a post by Bill Ackman, Musk hinted at a possible reconciliation. Ackman had suggested that Musk and Trump should resolve their differences for the greater good. Musk replied, “You’s are not wrong.”
The disagreement occurred as Trump’s proposed bill, encompassing tax cuts and increased military spending, faced scrutiny. The two personalities engaged in a public exchange of criticisms on social media, leading to a war of words. The feud reached a peak when Musk made explosive allegations concerning Trump’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein. The dispute intensified shortly after Musk left his position within the government.
U.S. Vice President JD Vance expressed his support for Trump during the public disagreement. Vance stated on X, “President Trump has done more than any person in my lifetime to earn the trust of the movement he leads. I’m proud to stand beside him.”
