Union Home Minister Amit Shah met with key officers in Delhi who were involved in the recent successful anti-Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh, acknowledging their historic achievement. Shah affirmed the Modi government’s resolve to free India from the threat of Naxalism.
In a post on X, the Union Home Minister expressed his desire to meet the brave jawans whose courage led to the success of these operations, and announced a visit to Chhattisgarh in the near future. The security forces have been carrying out anti-Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh under the guidance of the Union Home Minister.
From May 18 to May 21, an operation was conducted by the Chhattisgarh Police, including DRG units from Narayanpur, Dantewada, Kondagaon, and Bijapur districts, in the interior areas of Abujhmad. This led to an encounter on May 21 in Boter village, resulting in the elimination of 27 Naxals, including CPI (Maoist) General Secretary Basavaraju alias Gaganna, and the recovery of considerable arms and ammunition.
Amit Shah honored Chhattisgarh Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam, Additional Director General of Police (Anti-Naxal Operations/SIB/STF) Vivekanand, Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range) Sundarraj, and Superintendents of Police Prabhat Kumar, Jitendra Yadav, and Shalabh Singh. The gathering also included Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sharma, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Director of the Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka, and other senior officials.
