
England achieved a dominant 3-0 series win against the West Indies in the ODI series, triumphing in the final, rain-interrupted match at Taunton. England saw Sciver-Brunt and Sophia Dunkley open, with Amy Jones batting lower and Tammy Beaumont resting. Dunkley scored a quick 26 off 21 before being dismissed, leaving Sciver-Brunt to guide England towards the 107-run target in 10.5 overs.
Alice Capsey, promoted to bat at number three, scored 20 not out from just 11 balls as England reached 109 for 1, clinching the game and series. The match was reduced to 21 overs per side due to a five-hour rain delay.
The West Indies, batting first, struggled early as Kate Cross dismissed Realeanna Grimmond. Em Arlott took two further wickets, leaving the tourists at 4 for 3.
Qiana Joseph scored 34, and Aaliyah Alleyne hit five boundaries in her score of 27 off 18, bringing the West Indies to 106 for 8. Sarah Glenn took three crucial wickets after the rain interruption, among them Joseph.
The game was significantly affected by a five-hour rain delay, which stopped play after 12.3 overs, with the West Indies at 43 for 3. Glenn and Charlie Dean bowled well on resumption, Dean stumping stand-in captain Shemaine Campbelle.
Glenn dismissed Shabika Gajnabi and Joseph, while Lauren Filer and Alice Davidson-Richards contributed in the field.
England’s rotation policy allowed Glenn and Dean to play, resting Lauren Bell and Linsey Smith. Arlott made a vital contribution. The victory highlighted England’s strong performance, while the West Indies ended the tour without a win.
