In Korba, Chhattisgarh, a young woman was the victim of a violent attack by her former boyfriend, who stabbed her in the chest. The incident took place on Saturday, June 7th, in Dingapur Riksha Para. The victim and her mother had visited Rahul Sarathi, the ex-boyfriend, at his home to request that he cease contact with their daughter. This confrontation led to a physical altercation during which the mother was also injured while attempting to protect her daughter.
The case is under investigation by the Rampur police station. Rahul had a pattern of visiting the girl’s home. He would often criticize her and resort to physical violence, driven by his unfounded suspicions. After a year, the girl ended the relationship due to his behavior, but Rahul continued to harass her. The victim said that Rahul had threatened them both even after being released from jail.
The minor victim recounted that Rahul frequently came to her home, verbally abused her, and assaulted her. His reasoning was that since she was the cause of his damaged reputation in the neighborhood and at home, she couldn’t leave him. The girl added that Rahul had previously attacked her face, resulting in stitches. This time, he attacked her, causing chest injuries.
Rahul was unemployed. He has reiterated his threats, promising to harm the girl after his release from jail, insisting she wouldn’t be allowed to be with another person. Rahul’s father is a government employee in the health department. The victim has a history of previous injuries. After receiving a complaint from the family, the police registered a case and are conducting an investigation.
