Chirag Paswan has announced his decision to contest the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, stating his intention to compete for all 243 seats. Addressing a gathering in Ara, Paswan emphasized his commitment to the NDA alliance, with the goal of securing a win. He framed his candidacy as being ‘for Bihar,’ asking the people to decide which seat he should contest from. Paswan also targeted the RJD and Congress, claiming they shared responsibility for the ‘jungle raj.’ He commented on Rahul Gandhi’s criticism of the Election Commission, saying it indicates a pre-emptive acceptance of defeat. Paswan also made clear that he isn’t aiming for the Chief Minister’s chair. He clarified that his party’s parliamentary board will decide whether he contests the election.
