An accident involving Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav’s convoy occurred on Saturday morning near Goraul in Vaishali, Bihar. A speeding truck collided with two vehicles in the convoy while Yadav was on his way back to Patna from a political gathering in Madhepura. The convoy had halted for a short break on the Patna-Muzaffarpur highway around 12:30 AM. At the time of the incident, Tejashwi Yadav was a few meters away, having a cup of tea. The truck crashed into the vehicles carrying his security personnel. Fortunately, his personal vehicle was not hit, and he was unharmed. Three of his security officials sustained injuries in the collision and were immediately taken to a nearby hospital. Tejashwi Yadav visited the injured personnel, expressing his concern for their health. The injured security officials are now in stable condition, although they sustained minor injuries. The truck driver was apprehended by local police at the scene, and the truck was taken into custody. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, considering factors like speeding or driver fatigue. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of political figures traveling long distances on Bihar roads, especially at night. RJD supporters expressed their relief on social media, while others called for better road safety and traffic rule enforcement. Party leaders have demanded a thorough review of VIP security protocols, particularly under conditions of poor visibility.
