Tejashwi Yadav, a prominent RJD leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, had a close call on Saturday morning when a truck collided with his convoy in Vaishali. The accident took place near Goraul while he was returning to Patna from a political event in Madhepura. The incident happened at approximately 12:30 AM on the Patna-Muzaffarpur highway, during a brief tea break. Although Yadav was not injured, having been a few meters away, three security personnel were hurt in the crash and were immediately taken to a nearby hospital. The truck driver was arrested at the site, and the vehicle was impounded as the local police began an investigation. The cause of the accident is under investigation; possibilities include speeding or driver fatigue. The event has ignited concerns about the safety of political figures during long-distance travel on Bihar’s roads, particularly late at night. RJD supporters have expressed relief and called for improved road safety and traffic rule enforcement. Party leaders have requested a detailed review of VIP security protocols, especially under low-visibility conditions. Tejashwi Yadav has since resumed his regular activities and has assured his followers that he is safe and unaffected by the event.
