In a harrowing incident from Jharkhand’s Godda district, a tribal minor girl was subjected to a brutal gang-rape by ten individuals during a wedding ceremony. The incident occurred in the Sunderpahari police station area. It is reported that the minor girl had gone outside the wedding venue at night to attend to nature’s call.
Approximately ten young men saw the minor girl at that time. These men then grabbed the minor and silenced her and brought her to a secluded place in the village. They then committed the heinous act. News of the gang-rape caused a huge uproar in the village. A panchayat was also called to address the matter.
Eight accused have been arrested. Attempts were made to cover up the case, but after failing to get justice, the girl’s family approached the Sunderpahari police station and registered a complaint against the ten accused. Following this, the Sunderpahari police promptly arrested eight of the men involved in the gang-rape. All the accused reside within the Sunderpahari police station area.
A case has been registered against the eight accused under the POCSO Act and various other sections after a medical examination of the victim. Further action is being taken. The police are also conducting raids to arrest the remaining two accused. It’s important to note that a similar incident involving a minor girl had previously occurred in Godda district.
In Bokaro, a woman was also gang-raped. In the Sector-12 police station area, four men accosted a couple returning from the market. They forced them to consume alcohol. Then, after tying up the husband, the four men gang-raped the woman in his presence. Subsequently, Sector-12 police took immediate action and arrested all four accused.
