Union Minister Nitin Gadkari stated that improved road infrastructure has led to a six percent reduction in India’s logistics costs. He explained that previously, logistics costs were a major challenge at 16%, higher than in countries like China and the US. Gadkari emphasized the importance of infrastructure development in realizing PM Modi’s vision of a ‘Vishwa Guru’ India and a $5 trillion economy. He highlighted that reduced logistics costs will enhance exports and competitiveness across sectors. The Minister anticipates further decreases in these costs, aiming for 9% by next year, and expects Indian road infrastructure to rival that of the US within two years.
