The Israel-Iran conflict reached a critical point on Sunday as Iran launched approximately 150 ballistic missiles at Israel, in two separate waves. The missile launches were a direct response to Israeli strikes against Iranian military officials. Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz said that Iran had crossed a red line by attacking civilian areas in Israel. Following the missile attacks, evacuation procedures began in Tel Aviv. Concurrently, air raid sirens were activated across Israel due to a missile threat originating from Yemen. The current escalation comes after the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched a preemptive military offensive targeting Iran’s nuclear program, called ‘Operation Rising Lion’, a targeted military offensive. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated the operation will continue until the Iranian threat is eliminated.
