The BCCI has introduced new allowances and updated its travel policy for its employees. These adjustments follow a simplification of domestic travel policies. Previously, the travel guidelines stipulated that employees would receive Rs 15,000 daily for short-term travel (up to four days) and Rs 10,000 for long-term travel, typically associated with events like the IPL, WPL, and ICC programs held in India. In addition, a single-visit contingency allowance for conveyance was set at Rs 7,500. With the changes, the casual allowance has been removed. Instead, employees will receive Rs 10,000 per day during travel. The daily allowance, excluding tax, is approximately Rs 6,500. For the duration of the IPL, which spans about two months, an employee travelling for the full 70-day period is entitled to receive a daily allowance of Rs 10,000, up to a maximum claim of Rs 7 lakh. The claimable amount will be adjusted based on travel duration. The BCCI provides $300 per day for its employees when they are on foreign travels. The President, Secretary, Treasurer, Vice-President, and Joint Secretary, acting as honorary officials, receive a daily allowance of $1000 during their foreign tours. Furthermore, they receive Rs 40,000 per day for a one-day meeting within India and Rs 30,000 per day for multi-day domestic work trips.
