The Bihar government is focusing on providing farmers with timely access to quality seeds for the Kharif (autumn) crop. The state government has directed the distribution of seeds to be completed by June 20th, as stated by Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha. The targets for the distribution include 30,000 quintals of hybrid paddy seeds, 30,069 quintals of high-yielding paddy varieties, 9,500 quintals of hybrid maize, and 9,740 quintals of pigeon pea seeds. The objective is to empower farmers to achieve higher yields during the Kharif season. The government is committed to a transparent and farmer-centric seed distribution process. The Department of Agriculture is monitoring the process at the district level to ensure timely delivery. Farmers are encouraged to utilize the certified seeds provided by the department and to adopt modern farming practices. This initiative aims to boost agricultural production and contribute to a prosperous Bihar.
