The primary opening pair of Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway has a good record in T20 cricket. If Samson joins the team, he might replace a player. The top order is anchored by Ruturaj Gaikwad. CSK also has players like Ayush Mhatre and Urvil Patel in the middle order, who keep the scoreboard running. In the middle order, the Proteas Dewald Brevis and Shivam Dube have proved themselves reliable. So, inducting Samson into CSK might cost them the title next year as well.
