A shocking case of domestic violence has surfaced in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, where a woman was subjected to extreme cruelty by her husband. The man allegedly inserted chili powder into her private parts, burned her with a hot iron, and tried to electrocute her. The incident took place in the Devariya Kothi area of the district.
The woman is currently hospitalized in critical condition. Police have arrested the accused, Shatrughna Rai (40), following the victim’s report. The woman has accused her husband, her mother-in-law and her sister-in-law of participating in the abuse. She filed a complaint at the Devariya police station.
The victim stated that the abuse was prompted by her husband’s suspicion that she was having an affair with a man from the village. She is a mother of three. The husband runs a cosmetics shop. She reported that she was violently beaten on June 13, her hands and feet were bound, and he attempted to strangle her. The husband then allegedly branded her thighs and private parts. The woman was locked in a room without food for two days, with her in-laws failing to provide help.
Neighbors informed the police of the abuse. The victim’s brother brought her to the hospital on June 15. The police have arrested the husband and are investigating other family members.
