The body of model Sheetal Simmi Chaudhary was recovered from a canal in Haryana’s Sonipat district on Sunday night. The discovery was made in the Kharkhoda area. Preliminary findings indicate the 26-year-old model was murdered, with a slit throat. Sheetal, a resident of Panipat, was identified through tattoos on her body.
Sheetal, who acted in Haryanvi music videos, resided with her sister, Neha, in Khalila Majra. Neha had filed a missing person report. Information indicates that Sheetal was assaulted by her boyfriend while at a shoot on June 14. She revealed details of the attack, including a neck wound, during a video call with her sister and said she’d be home soon. She never made it back. A car belonging to a friend was later found near the canal.
Kharkhoda police are actively investigating, coordinating with the sister for identification. The family’s arrival from Panipat is anticipated.
