Tragedy struck Peddakorma, Chhattisgarh, as Naxals murdered three villagers, including a student. The attack also left seven others severely injured. The Naxal leader Vella and his group are believed to be responsible for the incident, which has created an atmosphere of fear among the locals.
The bodies of Jhingu Modium, Soma Modium, and Anil Madvi were recovered by security forces and taken to the district headquarters in Bijapur. Following post-mortem examinations, the bodies were given to the families. Legal action will be taken against the Naxals, based on the information provided by the families.
The killings have sparked questions about the state of intelligence operations. The recent deaths of key Naxal leaders appear to have provoked the insurgents, leading them to target villagers.
In related news, a major anti-Naxal operation is underway on the Andhra Pradesh-Chhattisgarh border. The Greyhounds have achieved success in Andhra Pradesh. The Chhattisgarh DRG has also been active, eliminating Naxal leaders in encounters. Reports suggest the possible deaths of Gazrala Ravi, an Andhra Pradesh zonal committee member, and Aruna, the wife of the slain Naxal leader Chalapathi; however, official confirmation is awaited.
