Former US President Donald Trump will announce his decision on whether the United States will enter the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict within the next two weeks, the White House confirmed. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that the potential for diplomatic engagement with Iran is a key factor in the timeline. Trump is considering the prospects of negotiations against the backdrop of escalating military actions in the Middle East. The administration has also reaffirmed its commitment to preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons, stressing the importance of halting uranium enrichment. The announcement comes after a week of military strikes between Israel and Iran. Trump has expressed his preference for a diplomatic solution while also acknowledging that military action may be necessary. The conflict escalated on June 13 when Israel initiated ‘Operation Rising Lion.’ Iran responded with retaliatory measures. Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has called for direct action against Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei. The White House stated that diplomatic engagement is still possible, while Trump is expected to make a final decision soon.
