Details have surfaced regarding a forthcoming Xbox-branded VR headset, a joint venture between Microsoft and Meta. The device, tentatively named the Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition, reflects Microsoft’s intention to extend the Xbox ecosystem through collaborations with external hardware developers, such as the recent Asus ROG Xbox Ally. Leaked images reveal a headset with an all-black design featuring green accents, matching the Xbox brand’s color palette. The package also includes an Xbox controller, an Elite strap, and a three-month subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The headset is expected to retail for $399, and it’s speculated that it will launch on June 24, featuring 128GB of storage. This will make it a budget-conscious VR choice. The device will be compatible with the complete Meta Quest library, and it will also support Xbox Cloud Gaming, letting users stream games directly in VR. This aligns with Meta’s Horizon OS licensing program, which initially included Xbox as a partner.
