The US Department of State has issued a global travel alert for American citizens, citing the current tensions between Israel and Iran. The alert, which was issued on Monday, warns of travel disruptions and periodic airspace closures across the Middle East. It also raises concerns about possible demonstrations that could target US citizens and interests internationally. Consequently, the Department of State is advising US citizens to exercise greater caution when traveling. The warning emphasizes the potential for protests against US citizens and interests abroad, urging travelers to carefully examine travel advisories, country-specific details, and any recent security updates before making travel plans. Earlier, on June 19, the US Embassy directed all US government staff and their families in Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza to remain sheltered in place until further notice. This decision was made due to the present security circumstances and the continuous conflict between Israel and Iran. The State Department is making plans to support private US citizens who wish to leave Israel.
