Police in Chhattisgarh have arrested a couple in connection with the murder of a disabled man, who was killed due to a land dispute and unpaid funds. The body was concealed in cement, placed in a suitcase, then in a steel trunk, and discarded. The investigation, following the discovery of the body in Raipur’s DD Nagar, revealed the involvement of Ankit Upadhyay, a lawyer, and his wife. The couple allegedly orchestrated the murder related to a land brokerage dispute involving the victim, Kishore Divyang Pakra. CCTV footage from the crime scene helped identify the perpetrators. SSP Lal Umed Singh confirmed that the initial probe pointed to Ankit and his wife. The wife was identified through CCTV footage near where Pakra’s body was found. The footage showed a car entering DD Nagar on Monday, with two individuals opening the trunk to remove the trunk containing the body. The victim, who needed a wheelchair, had sold land with Ankit’s help. A dispute arose when the victim sought the remaining funds. Ankit, who had been involved in the brokerage, faced threats of legal action. In response, Ankit murdered Pakra, and concealed the body. The couple then disposed of the body. Ankit and his wife have been apprehended by the authorities.
