The IMD predicts that a low-pressure area will develop over the northwest Bay of Bengal and neighboring Odisha-West Bengal coasts within the next day. This weather system is anticipated to bring heavy to very heavy rainfall to Odisha until June 28. A red alert has been issued for Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts for June 25, indicating a high likelihood of extremely heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds. Other districts are also likely to experience similar conditions, with heavy rain and strong winds expected. The IMD has issued warnings about rough sea conditions, advising fishermen to stay away from the coast during the forecast period.
