A significant rescue operation was conducted in Jharkhand amidst relentless rainfall and severe flooding. 162 children were successfully rescued from the Love-Kush residential school in Jamshedpur’s Potka block, which was submerged due to the rising water levels of the Gudra River. The students and staff had to take shelter on the roof of the school to escape the rising water. The rescue mission involved the collaboration of police, local officials, and villagers, who worked together to safely evacuate the trapped children using ropes and small boats. The state is grappling with extreme weather conditions, and heavy rainfall has led to alerts across multiple districts.
