A five-member TMC delegation will meet the Election Commission to discuss the controversial Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar. The meeting will cover the SIR and related matters. The Election Commission officials have defended the SIR, stating that numerous ineligible individuals have secured voter ID cards. Opposition parties are worried that the revision could potentially disenfranchise rightful voters. The Election Commission plans to conduct a comprehensive review of voter lists across six states, beginning with Bihar, with the goal of removing illegal immigrants. This action comes at a time when elections are approaching in Bihar and other states in the coming years.
