The state of Jharkhand is reeling from the impact of intense monsoon rains, which have caused significant disruption. The heavy rainfall has resulted in damage to infrastructure, including the collapse of bridges and culverts in several districts. Many areas are flooded, with water levels rising rapidly in rivers and streams. From June 1st to 30th, rainfall across the state was 88% above the average. Ranchi has been the worst hit, experiencing 213% more rainfall than usual. The meteorological department has issued warnings for continued heavy rainfall, expected to persist until July 6th.
