
With the southwest monsoon covering nearly the entire country, rainfall is widespread. Many states are experiencing heavy rainfall, with Delhi receiving a good amount of rain at the end of June. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts more rain for Delhi and its surrounding areas.
The IMD predicts heavy rainfall in Delhi until July 7. Eastern Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and western Uttar Pradesh are expected to receive significant rainfall, including very heavy and extremely heavy falls in some locations.
Heavy rainfall is also anticipated in Jharkhand, Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, eastern Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Odisha. The IMD has predicted heavy rainfall in Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh for six to seven days. Sikkim, Bihar, and West Bengal are also likely to experience heavy rain. The monsoon will be active in northwest, east, and central India.
Rainfall is also predicted in Konkan, Goa, and Gujarat. Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh are expected to receive heavy rainfall until July 7. Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh can expect heavy rainfall from July 5-7. Uttar Pradesh is likely to receive heavy rainfall until July 5, and Himachal Pradesh today and from July 5-7. Several areas of northwest India will experience heavy rainfall over the next seven days.
Southern India is also expecting rain. Telangana will receive rain today, Kerala from today until July 5, and Karnataka from today until July 7. The southern peninsular India will have strong winds (40-50 kmph) for the next seven days. Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam may experience thunderstorms with light to moderate rain.
