The unfortunate event occurred in the Sahi Tongri village, under the jurisdiction of the Shankargarh police station, leading to widespread grief throughout the village.
It’s understood that Rajni Korwa (wife of Kishun Korwa) from Amgaon had been staying at her parents’ home. On Monday, while en route to her in-laws’ residence with her son, they attempted to cross a flooded drain in the Sahi Tongri area. However, the strong current swept them away.
Following the incident, the Shankargarh police arrived at the scene and began rescue operations. The bodies of the mother and son were recovered after substantial effort. The bodies were then sent to the hospital for a post-mortem examination, and the family was informed.
The untimely loss of Rajni and her son has caused immense sorrow among their family and the villagers. The incident underscores the question of safety measures on dangerous routes during the monsoon period.
