In a significant move to bolster infrastructure around the Noida International Airport, the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Corridor Development Authority (UPEIDA) has implemented a ban on the sale and purchase of land along the planned 74.3 km expressway. This expressway is designed to link the airport with the Ganga Expressway and the Yamuna Expressway, effectively connecting three major transport initiatives in Uttar Pradesh. Officials have made it clear that any violations of this directive will result in strict action.
The Ganga Expressway, a project valued at Rs 4,000 crore, will connect Meerut to Prayagraj. The new link expressway will originate from the Syana area in Bulandshahr and terminate near Film City in Sector-21, situated close to the Yamuna Expressway. This route is considered vital for improving both passenger and logistics connectivity in western UP.
Following the authority’s order, administrative officials from Noida and Bulandshahr are actively surveying to identify the designated land and facilitate its acquisition or management.
Under the latest plan, the expressway is set to have a width of 120 meters, with the route adjusted to avoid established areas of Yamuna City. The expressway will now traverse 56 villages, which include 8 in Noida and 48 in Bulandshahr district. Significant villages involved are Mahndipur Bangar, Bhaiyapur Brahmanan, Rabupura, and Myana (Noida), along with Amanullahpur, Kapna, and Bhagwanpur (Khurja tehsil). Additionally, multiple panchayats of Syana and Shikarpur tehsils will be affected.
YEIDA officials have highlighted the project’s importance for fostering regional industrial and economic development. They anticipate that this expressway will support the efficient transport of cargo from Noida Airport to industrial zones within Yamuna City (such as Sector 28, 29, 32, and 33). This initiative will contribute to enhanced connectivity and passenger travel between Delhi, Agra, Mumbai, and Prayagraj, while simultaneously strengthening the logistics network.
Plans are also underway to integrate this expressway with NH-34. This significant infrastructure project aligns with recent road projects, such as the 66-km section on the Delhi-Jaipur route, which reduced travel time by an hour and impacted 56 villages.
