Kia is preparing to introduce the Carens EV, a new all-electric vehicle that is positioned to become one of the first MPV EVs in the market. The teaser campaign suggests a range of about 490 kilometers for the upcoming Carens EV. Kia will soon release comprehensive details about the new EV MPV. While the exact powertrain specifications have been kept under wraps, some information has become available. The Kia Clavis EV is slated to be unveiled on July 5, and initial teasers suggest a combination of practicality and advanced technology. The promotional material showcases the vehicle’s MPV-SUV crossover design. Safety features are expected to be a key selling point, with a Level 2 ADAS suite, incorporating about 20 autonomous functions. Standard safety equipment includes six airbags, ESC, Hill start assist, Down Hill Brake control, and all-wheel disc brakes. The interior appears to be based on the top-spec Clavis model, featuring premium cream leatherette, a floating dash design, and a notable headrest design. The Carens EV is anticipated to share its powertrain with the Creta EV and offer battery options, including a 42 kWh and a 51.4 kWh pack. The more powerful version is expected to generate about 171 PS. Fast charging will allow the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in about an hour using a 50 kW DC charger. The Carens Clavis EV may offer an improved battery for an extended range of 490 km compared to the Creta EV.
