AIMIM’s Asaduddin Owaisi has made a critical statement regarding the RJD-Congress-led Mahagathbandhan, referencing potential post-election disappointment. He said that the bloc shouldn’t “cry” with the phrase “Mummy, they stole our chocolate.” This comment was made in response to questions regarding a potential alliance with the opposition for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections. In addition to criticizing the Mahagathbandhan, Owaisi accused the Election Commission of covertly implementing the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Bihar. He highlighted concerns that new documentation requirements could hinder the voting rights of many citizens, particularly those in the Seemanchal region.
