
In his address to the Indian community in Trinidad and Tobago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored the historical and cultural importance of Bihar. He applauded the Indian diaspora, and referred to Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar as the ‘daughter of Bihar,’ recognizing her ancestral roots and inviting her to offer water from the Sarayu and the Mahakumbh to the Ganga Dhara in the Caribbean nation. Modi pointed out Persad-Bissessar’s family’s origin in Buxar, Bihar. He mentioned he was carrying water from the Mahakumbh and requested Bissessar to offer it. Modi, while addressing a large gathering of people of Indian origin, emphasized Bihar’s global significance. He also highlighted the contributions of the Girmitiya community and announced initiatives to recognize them. He expressed confidence in Bihar’s future and praised the Indian diaspora for maintaining Indian culture.
