
A meeting of the Telecom Advisory Committee, led by Raipur MP Brijmohan Agrawal, took place in Raipur. The meeting focused on evaluating BSNL’s current services, future network expansion plans, and upcoming projects. Agrawal, a senior BJP leader, instructed BSNL officials to focus on providing high-quality services to consumers. He specifically highlighted the need to strengthen network coverage in rural and remote areas, ensuring parity with urban areas.
Agrawal emphasized the importance of utilizing BSNL services within government offices and encouraged the swift rollout of 5G services. He also proposed that BSNL should increase its promotional activities and marketing to attract more customers.
T. K. Markam, BSNL’s Principal General Manager (Commercial Area Raipur), briefed the meeting on the status of BSNL’s 4G services, the expansion of its network, and new initiatives. He stated that BSNL has launched 4G services in Naxal-affected villages where other service providers are absent. Furthermore, over 700 schools are now connected with fiber optic cables under the Samagra Shiksha Yojana.
Markam also provided information on the government’s Extended BharatNet project, which plans to install 1.5 crore Bharat Fiber connections across India. He thanked MP Agrawal for his support. Other members of the Telecom Advisory Committee and senior BSNL officials also participated in the meeting.
