The Indian government’s move to digitize the education sector includes the introduction of APAAR ID. This unique digital identity is designed to store and manage student’s educational details on a unified platform. This article will provide insights into the concept of APAAR ID, its benefits, and the easy online procedure to obtain one.
APAAR (Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry) is part of the Academic Bank of Credit (ABC). It is designed as a digital account, encompassing all the education records of a student. This includes details of school or college enrollment, courses completed, course credits, certificates, and degrees.
Advantages of APAAR ID:
* Digital maintenance of educational records.
* Simplified process of switching institutions.
* Secure storage of certificates.
* Prevention against fraud.
* Enhanced national-level tracking capabilities.
How to Apply for APAAR ID Online:
Students are required to liaise with their respective schools. The school then updates the student’s details, including name, Aadhaar number, mobile number, and class, via the UDISE+ portal. Following this, students can log in to DigiLocker using their Aadhaar card, choose the APAAR ID option, and authorize the process. The APAAR ID will be generated and saved to the DigiLocker account immediately.
Note: If the applicant is a minor (below 18 years), parental consent will be a prerequisite.
Who Can Apply?
Students enrolled in either government or private schools can apply. Moreover, students in colleges, universities, or those undertaking skill development courses are also eligible.
APAAR ID represents a crucial step towards digital and transparent education in India. It provides students with an effective way to monitor their academic progress and ensure instant access to required information.
