The Gumla police have made significant progress in the Vinod Agrawal murder case, arresting three individuals linked to the crime. The arrests were made within a day, with the investigation revealing the motive to be an old-standing rivalry. The accused are Anchal Bium Tirkey (Chiku), Julian Minj (Julie), and Sameer Toppo. Police recovered an iron rod and a sword believed to have been used in the murder. The initial report of the death was a road accident, but the investigation, including the examination of CCTV footage, uncovered the truth. Chiku and Julie had prior criminal records and were out on bail. The motive for the killing was based on an incident during Christmas where Agrawal had accused Chiku’s brother of theft. This led to an altercation and subsequently, Chiku planned the murder as an act of revenge. On the day of the murder, Agrawal was attacked by Chiku, while Julian and Sameer provided support.
