Dumri MLA Jairam Mahto is planning to provide financial aid to women in his constituency. He intends to offer a monthly pension of ₹1,000 to women who have lost their family’s primary breadwinner and are facing economic hardship. The MLA plans to implement this soon. During an interview, he shared his desire to support these women. He mentioned, “We are planning to assess such women and offer them ₹1,000 per month from my salary.” He further stated that it would be a historic move for an MLA to fund pensions for women from his own salary, and that he is carefully considering the plan.
Earlier, on July 8th, the MLA organized a talent recognition event using 75% of his three-month salary. Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar awarded laptops and tablets to the top students of the Matric and Intermediate examinations from the Dumri assembly constituency. Other students were also honored with medals.
