Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has expressed his disapproval of Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Patna, alleging that Gandhi’s trips are superficial and only serve as a ‘political picnic’ without addressing the real issues of Bihar. Chaudhary made the statement upon reaching Ranchi for the Eastern Zonal Council meeting, which will be chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The primary focus of the meeting is to foster regional development and resolve inter-state disputes. Chaudhary also criticized the opposition’s call for a Bihar bandh, labeling it as anti-people and misleading, particularly in the context of the Election Commission’s special revision of the voter list. He emphasized that over four crore voters in Bihar have already supported the program by submitting verification forms. Additionally, Chaudhary commented on Jharkhand’s political scenario, suggesting that leaders in Jharkhand should resign if they haven’t fulfilled the public’s trust. The Eastern Zonal Council meeting will address significant matters, including settling property disputes between Bihar and Jharkhand, and will focus on regional coordination, administrative reforms, infrastructural development, and security enhancements.
