The Eastern Zonal Council meeting, chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, is taking place in Ranchi today. Amit Shah arrived in Ranchi late on Wednesday night and was welcomed with traditional honors. Notable attendees included Babulal Marandi, Raghuvar Das, and Arjun Munda.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM at the Radisson Blu Hotel. Chief Minister Hemant Soren also arrived from Delhi to participate, alongside Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, and Water Resources Minister Vijay Chaudhary. The meeting will have 70 attendees.
During the meeting, CM Hemant Soren will present demands for a special package and seek recovery of Rs 1.36 lakh crore owed by coal companies. The Eastern Zonal Council will address 20 key agendas, and Amit Shah is set to return to Delhi this evening after the proceedings.
