Jharkhand’s Chief Minister, Hemant Soren, has urged the central government to support the state’s development initiatives. During the 27th meeting of the Eastern Zonal Council, he outlined key demands for Jharkhand, focusing on financial assistance and infrastructure projects. These included the recovery of pending royalties from coal companies (Rs 1.40 lakh crore), the implementation of the ‘Maiyaan Samman Yojana’, the establishment of a Tribal University, and the advancement of the Ranchi Metro project. He also highlighted the need for central assistance in sectors such as tourism, rural development, MSMEs, and education.
