
Ready to Eat construction work given to women’s self-help groups again: Another guarantee of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi fulfilled

Raipur, July 10, 2025/ The initiative to implement the decision to hand over the work of Ready to Eat construction to women’s self-help groups again, fulfilling another guarantee of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi by the Chhattisgarh government, was started today from Raigarh district.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai handed over contract letters to 10 women’s self-help groups for the construction and distribution of Ready to Eat in a program organized in Raigarh. On this occasion, Finance Minister Shri O.P. Choudhary, Raigarh MP Shri Radheshyam Rathia, Rajya Sabha MP Shri Devendra Pratap Singh, MLA Shri Purandar Mishra, District Panchayat President Smt. Shikha Ravindra Gabel, Mayor Shri Jivardhan Chauhan and District Panchayat member Smt. Sushma Khalkho were present.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the state government has decided to hand over the work of manufacturing and distribution of supplementary nutrition food (Ready to Eat) for Anganwadi centers to women’s self-help groups. This work will be started as a pilot project in 6 districts in the initial phase. Raigarh has become the first district in this initiative, where contract letters have been distributed to 10 women’s self-help groups.
The Chief Minister said that the sisters of these groups will now not only provide nutritious food to the children of Anganwadi, but will also increase their income from this work, so that they can become economically empowered. This scheme is a meaningful initiative towards self-employment as well as social and economic empowerment of women. Also, this scheme will play an important role in improving the nutritional level of the state by providing nutritious food to children.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said in his address that in the last one and a half years of his tenure, most of the works of the guarantee of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi have been brought to the ground. Works like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, procurement of paddy at the rate of Rs 3100 per quintal, distribution of arrears bonus of two years, financial assistance of Rs 1000 per month to women under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, increase in tendupatta collection rate by Rs 5500 per standard bag and re-commencement of Charan Paduka Yojana are strong examples of this. Along with this, the benefit of visiting religious places is also being given to the people of the state through Ramlala Darshan Yojana and Tirth Yatra Yojana.
The Chief Minister said that Atal Digital Seva Kendras have been started, the objective of which is to provide banking services to the people of rural areas in their own villages. So far, such service centers have been established in 1,460 panchayats of the state, through which thousands of mothers and sisters are taking advantage of simple, safe and accessible banking services. In the coming time, the remaining panchayats will also be connected with this facility.
On this occasion, Finance Minister Shri O.P. Choudhary said that the state government is continuously working to make women self-reliant. The Chhattisgarh government is working in a planned manner in line with the target of making 3 crore Lakhpati Didis across the country. In this direction, the Ready to Eat scheme is being started, in the first phase of which 6 districts have been included. Raigarh is the first such district where contract letters have been handed over to women’s groups. The Finance Minister called upon all the women’s groups who received the contracts to do quality work and said that they should present this scheme as an ideal model. This initiative will not only economically empower women, but will also strengthen the state’s nutrition campaign.
It is noteworthy that 10 women’s groups have been selected in Raigarh district for the Ready to Eat work, who have been provided with contract letters. These groups will be provided capital subsidy by the Department of Industries under the Prime Minister’s Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme for the establishment of Ready to Eat units. Women’s groups have been selected for Ready to Eat distribution in Anganwadi centers under Raigarh Urban, Raigarh Rural, Pusaur, Kharsia, Gharghoda, Tamnar, Lailunga, Mukdega, Dharamjaygarh and Kapu projects of Raigarh district.
