His visit to Kuala Lumpur also involved a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. The meeting, described as constructive and positive, served as a platform to address ongoing trade disputes and geopolitical competition. Both leaders were in Kuala Lumpur for ASEAN-related meetings. The US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is also scheduled to meet with Chinese officials in the near future to continue discussions on relevant matters.
