The monsoon session of the Chhattisgarh Assembly is set to begin on July 14th, with a focus on critical issues impacting the state. The five-day session will see intense scrutiny of the government, as both the opposition and members of the ruling party have raised questions.
The queries submitted to the Assembly Secretariat cover a range of topics, including the scarcity of fertilizers, law and order concerns, alleged corruption in government schemes, negligence in official work, local issues, and the failure of certain projects. The opposition is expected to aggressively challenge the government during the session.
In preparation for the session, the BJP legislative party convened on Sunday. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stated that the ruling party is prepared to address the concerns raised by the opposition. Addressing the issue of DAP fertilizer shortages, Sai explained that the scarcity is a widespread problem, not confined to Chhattisgarh. He attributed the shortage to reduced imports due to the ongoing conflict in Russia and Ukraine. The agricultural department is promoting NPK fertilizer as an alternative to address the shortage.
