Detailed discussion on land record improvement, digital survey and expeditious disposal of cases in revenue courts

Secretary, Department of Land Resources, Government of India, Shri Manoj Joshi, paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today at the office located in the Assembly complex. On this occasion, there was a detailed discussion on strengthening the land record system, use of technical innovations in land survey, and expeditious disposal of pending cases in revenue courts. Revenue Minister Shri Tankaram Verma was also present in the meeting.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that the state government is working with full commitment to update land revenue documents and make necessary improvements. He said that the more systematic the revenue records are, the quicker and more effective the disposal of cases in the revenue courts will be. He also clarified that the state government will work shoulder to shoulder with the central government in all initiatives related to the improvement of land records so that this system can become more effective and public-friendly.
The Chief Minister said that the central government is making significant efforts to bring transparency, speed and accuracy in land revenue records through technology-based innovative initiatives, which will directly benefit farmers and common citizens. He directed the officers of the Revenue Department to ensure all necessary steps in this direction promptly.
Union Land Resources Secretary Shri Manoj Joshi said that the situation of land records in Chhattisgarh is relatively better and further improvements are being made in it with the active cooperation of the state government. He said that earlier, land survey done by traditional methods used to take more time, but now this process has become faster, more accurate and reliable with the use of modern techniques.
Shri Joshi said that the central government is making special efforts to improve the land record maintenance system, under which financial and technical assistance is being provided to the states. He said that during the purchase and sale of land, technical problems often arise in updating the maps, which can be effectively overcome through digital survey. This will provide each citizen with an updated and authentic map, which will reduce errors and better plan the expansion of urban areas.
Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Subodh Kumar Singh, Joint Secretary, Government of India Shri Kunal Satyarthi, Revenue Secretary Shri Avinash Champawat, Director of Land Records Shri Vineet Nandanwar and departmental officials were present in the meeting.
