
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a comprehensive weather forecast indicating widespread rainfall across the country in the upcoming week. The forecast highlights warnings for heavy to very heavy rainfall in numerous states and union territories.
Areas such as Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East and West Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan can expect rain between July 16 and 21. Very heavy rainfall is anticipated in Jammu and Kashmir and East Rajasthan on July 16, Uttarakhand on July 17, 20 and 21, and East Uttar Pradesh on July 16-17.
Strong monsoon activity is also forecasted for East and Central India. Heavy rainfall is likely in isolated locations within Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and West Bengal. Western Madhya Pradesh is expected to experience very heavy rainfall on July 18, with East Madhya Pradesh facing similar conditions on July 16-17.
West India is under a severe weather advisory, with torrential rains expected in the valley areas of Konkan, Goa, and Madhya Maharashtra on July 20 and 21. Additionally, parts of Gujarat may receive heavy rainfall on July 16.
Northeast India is expected to continue experiencing light to moderate rainfall throughout the week. Heavy rainfall is also possible in certain areas of Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, and Tripura between July 19 and 21.
Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall through July 21. Furthermore, strong winds with speeds of 40 to 50 kmph are predicted for this region. Hot and humid weather conditions are likely to persist over Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema on July 16.
