The third day of the monsoon session of the House was marked by significant unrest. The Leader of the Opposition, Dr. Charan Das Mahant, raised questions about the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PM Awas Yojana). This led to a heated response from the Congress MLAs following the Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma’s answers. Dr. Charan Das Mahant questioned the progress of the PM Awas Yojana (Rural), asking whether a house is considered complete upon payment, or if it’s considered complete even if the toilet is not constructed. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma stated that the third installment is provided after the lintel level is reached, with payment made within 90 days, and the work is considered completed at the end. The Deputy Chief Minister also mentioned that the current government under Vishnu Deo Sai has made all payments.
