
A major encounter between security forces and Naxals has taken place in the Abujhmar area of Chhattisgarh, resulting in the deaths of six key Naxal leaders. The incident occurred on the Narayanpur-Maharashtra border during a search operation targeting Naxal activities. Following the encounter, security forces conducted a detailed search, uncovering AK-47 rifles, SLRs, and a large quantity of explosives and other materials. Intelligence agencies had been monitoring the increased Maoist presence in the region, leading to the deployment of a joint security team. The encounter commenced on Saturday afternoon and continued intermittently, leading to the deaths of six Naxals. Security forces have secured the area and the search operation continues, with the possibility of more Naxals hiding in the forest. The identification of the slain Naxals is in progress, with police suggesting that some could be previously wanted criminals facing serious charges.
