Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai attended the play staging ceremony based on the biography of Punyashlok Lokmata Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar
Raipur, July 19, 2025/ The entire life of Punyashlok Lokmata Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar was dedicated to social welfare. She was not only the queen of Indore, but also a just, religious and impartial administrator. The work she did in the field of renovation and reconstruction of religious places and temples across the country is still inspiring for all of us. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said the above things in a play staging ceremony based on the biography of Punyashlok Lokmata Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar organized by Vishwa Mangalya Sabha at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium, Raipur.
Mr. Sai further said that we are all celebrating the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar. On this occasion, under the guidance of the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, various programs are being organized in the entire country and the state in her memory.
This play presentation based on the life of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar Ji, dedicated to good governance, Sanatan and culture, will help in conveying her great deeds to the people. Rajmata Ahilyabai Holkar is a great inspiration of our glorious history. The present and future generations should draw inspiration from her life character. She realized the concept of Ramrajya. She led the Holkar dynasty for three decades. She provided an exemplary system of administration, justice and public welfare. From Kanchi in the south, Badrinath in the north, Puri in the east and Dwarka in the west, her virtuous deeds are imprinted everywhere. She was the queen of Indore, but she did not confine herself to any geographical boundaries. She built temples, established dharamshalas and always waved the flag of religion in different parts of the country.
She remained the flag bearer of Sanatan. When the name of Maharani Ahilyabai comes, her picture with a Shivling in her hands comes alive. She reconstructed the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, the symbol of India’s cultural and religious consciousness. When Aurangzeb destroyed the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, this incident was extremely shocking for the Hindu society. At that time, Mata Jijabai had told Shivaji Maharaj that the reconstruction of Kashi Vishwanath Temple should be our top goal. Peshwa Madhavrao had also written in his will that he wanted the Kashi Vishwanath Temple to be rebuilt. This successful work was completed by the hands of Rajmata Ahilyabai Holkar.
She realized the dreams of lakhs of devout Hindus by reconstructing the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. She used to get Ganga water from Haridwar and offer it in the Shiva temple of Kanchipuram. She also got religious construction work done in Puri and Dwarka. In the same tradition in which Adi Shankaracharya ji established the Char Dham by connecting the Sanatan tradition, Rajmata Ahilyabai Holkar ji played an important role in connecting India culturally.
On this occasion, Jagdalpur MLA Shri Kiran Dev Sai also addressed the program. The proposal was presented by Mrs. Nikita Tai of Vishwa Mangalya Sabha.
On this occasion, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Dr. Raman Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao, Cabinet Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, State President and Jagdalpur MLA Shri Kiran Dev Sai, Shri Ajay Jamwal, Shri Pawan Sai along with a large number of MLAs, MPs, Presidents of Corporations-Boards-Commissions, public representatives and distinguished citizens were present.
