In an ongoing effort to combat Naxalism, Jharkhand police engaged in a fierce encounter in Gumla district. The operation, conducted in the Lava Daag forest of the Ghaghra police station area, resulted in the deaths of three Naxals. The targeted operation was launched after receiving intelligence about the presence of the Jharkhand Janmukti Parishad (JJMP) sub-zonal commander, Dilip Lohra. A joint team comprising Ghaghra, Bishunpur, and Gumla police, along with the Jharkhand Jaguar, initiated the search. The ensuing gun battle led to the death of Lohra and two other Naxals. Security forces seized an AK-47, two INSAS rifles, and a significant quantity of ammunition. The incident underscores the commitment of law enforcement to eradicate Naxal influence. The encounter follows a similar incident in Bokaro district a few days prior.
