A devastating event unfolded in Korba, Chhattisgarh, where a two-year-old child, Divyansh Kumar, lost his life after choking on a chickpea. The child was playing at home when he ingested the chickpea, which subsequently became lodged in his throat, obstructing his airway. The child’s family rushed him to a local hospital for urgent medical attention. Despite the best efforts of the medical team, the child could not be saved. Reports indicate the chickpea traveled from the throat to the lungs causing internal bleeding. The parents have raised concerns about the medical treatment received, while hospital staff maintain that everything possible was done to save the child’s life.
