The Election Commission of India (ECI) is on track to complete the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar by the July 25 deadline. Nearly 47% of the required Enumeration Forms have been collected within the first two weeks of the revision process, which began on June 24. The ECI’s data indicates that 3.70 crore forms have been collected out of a target of 7.90 crore electors. A high percentage of forms have already been distributed.
The ECI has increased the number of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) by 20,603, bringing the total to 77,895. These officers are conducting household visits. Around 4 lakh volunteers are also assisting. The election team, including electoral officers and the Chief Electoral Officer, are working across all 243 Assembly constituencies.
Political parties are also actively participating. The number of Booth Level Agents (BLAs) has increased as District Presidents are making more appointments.
